Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a free tier?

Yes. The Free plan gives you 25 requests per day with 7 days of article history and a 24-hour freshness delay. It's designed for testing and development only — automated or production usage requires a paid plan. No credit card required to get started.

Which plans allow commercial use?

Every paid plan includes commercial use rights, starting at $29/month. Commercial use means any use of the API in connection with a product, service, or activity that generates revenue, directly or indirectly. The Free plan is the exception: it is for development and testing only. See our Terms of Service, or contact us if you are unsure which applies.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from your dashboard. When upgrading, you get immediate access to the new plan's limits. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.

What happens if I exceed my rate limit?

Requests that exceed your plan's rate limit will receive a 429 status code. Your access is never cut off permanently. Just wait briefly and retry. If you regularly hit limits, consider upgrading to a higher plan.

What does "freshness delay" mean?

Freshness delay is how soon after publication an article becomes available through the API. The Free plan has a 24-hour delay, Starter has a 1-hour delay, and Growth/Pro plans get real-time access to articles as soon as they're ingested.
