Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan gives you 25 requests per day for testing and development. Automated or production usage requires a paid plan. No credit card required to get started.
What news categories are available?
Business, technology, politics, world, science, health, sports, entertainment, environment and lifestyle. See the documentation for how to filter by them.
Can I filter by country?
Yes. country filters by the countries a story is about, and sourceCountry by where the publisher is based. Both take ISO codes such as us, gb or ca.
How fresh is the news data?
The data updates continuously in real time. Articles are available as soon as source outlets publish them.
What format is the API response?
JSON. Every article has the same fields: title, description, link, image, source, published date, category, topics, people and country relevance. Full article text is included on plans that support it.
What are the rate limits?
Free includes 25 requests a day. Paid plans use a monthly allowance: Starter 5,000, Growth 75,000 and Pro 250,000, each with its own per-second limit. See pricing for details.
What happens if I hit my limit?
Requests past your limit get a 429 response with a Retry-After header. Free quotas reset daily at midnight UTC and paid quotas reset monthly. Upgrade any time if you need more.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes, with no long-term contract. You keep your plan until the end of the current billing period, then move to Free.
